Tiny non-powered camping sites. But worst of all was after we got there on a Friday night which was packed, all sites except ours were vacated the next day. So having 11 sites to chose from on Saturday night they put people directly on each side of us. All the other sites were free but we were squeezed in on each side. How about a bit of common sense?! Not very impressed with their response when a tree came down on our camper either.
Booked an unpowered site at the last minute; was told at the reception that they'd ran out of space.. and offered us a log cabin at no extra charge! Seeing how it was peak period for them, really appreciate their gesture. Location is just next to the bridge linking PI to the mainland, so its easy to find, even without GPS. Very near to the beach too.
BIG4 Phillip Island Caravan Park has some interesting information on why Australia is called the land down under?
Australia is known as 'the land Down Under' for its position in the southern hemisphere. The discovery of Australia began when European explorers searched for land under the continent of Asia. Before Australia was discovered, it was known as Terra Australis Incognita the unknown southern land.
