The Metropolitan Golf Club, one of Melbourne's renowned 'Sandbelt' courses and widely regarded as one of the finest championship courses in Australia, is located approximately 20 minutes from Melbourne city centre.
Metropolitan enjoys a reputation as one of the best-conditioned and most beautiful courses in the country.
Pure couch grass fairways with large, fast bent-grass greens that are hand-mown to the edges of the greenside bunkers add greatly to the challenge of the course.
If you are a member of an interstate or overseas golf club and would like to play at Metropolitan, please email their bookings email address, or check the website for further details.
Limited playing times are available on weekdays only.
Metropolitan Golf Club has recently completed a $12 million rebuild of its Clubhouse facility.
The process took approximately 14 months to complete but it was well worth the wait as now they have a magnificent Clubhouse to complement the wonderful golf course.
The views of the golf course from the function rooms are truly stunning.
The bars and function rooms are sensational spaces and Metropolitan is now the perfect venue for a wedding, seminar or corporate golf day.
If you are interested in holding an event at Metropolitan please contact their Hospitality Manager, James Martin via email for more details.
The Maffra Golf Club is one of the jewels in East Gippsland's golfing crown.
Established more than 50 years ago the course is beautifully maintained with mature trees, immaculately grassed fairways and true fast greens which are among the best in country Victoria.
The course (Par 72men 6056meters) is quite flat with just a couple of moderate slopes but is no 'pushover' in terms of golfing and requires consistent shots off the tees, the fairways and most importantly on the greens.
The clubhouse is available for functions and has a fully licenced bar.
For those planning a longer stay, powered caravan sites are also available.
Weekly competitions are held on most days and special yearly events are well spaced through the year so have a look at the club website for more details.
